Immigration, real estate, personal injury, international trade and employment law — practised in Canada, for clients who arrive from, trade with and sponsor family from around the world. Based in North York, Toronto, with a team that advises in English, Persian and Tagalog.
We practise Canadian law only. Our clients’ stories often begin somewhere else — our job is to make sure the Canadian side is done right.
We are built for clients whose lives and businesses do not stop at one border, and every matter we handle is governed by Canadian law. Our lawyers, immigration consultants and clerks work as one team, so a file that touches immigration, property and trade is handled under one roof.
Our director is a lawyer, a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). When a legal question is really a business question, you get one answer, not two.
English, Persian and Tagalog spoken in-house. Documents, meetings and hearings prepared with the nuance that translation apps miss.
Clear scope, clear fees and a named lawyer on every file. You will always know who is working on your matter and what happens next.

Choose an area to see exactly what we handle — including the matters other firms refer out.
Every pathway into Canada, and every remedy when a decision goes wrong — up to and including judicial review at the Federal Court. Our lawyers and Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants work together on each file. Shahab Pangan Nazarinia is a Legal Aid Ontario lawyer on the refugee roster, and the firm accepts Legal Aid certificates for refugee matters.

Residential and commercial closings handled with the discipline of a department that does this every day. Our real estate group is led by a lawyer whose practice is dedicated entirely to property.

After an accident you deal with insurers, forms and deadlines while trying to recover. We take that over. Initial consultations are free, and there is no fee unless we recover compensation for you.

A practice few law firms can offer: legal advice from a lawyer who is also a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). We help Canadian importers and exporters, and foreign businesses entering Canada, get the Canadian paperwork and contracts right the first time.

For employees who were let go and employers who want to do it right. Our special counsel in employment law reviews packages, negotiates severance and defends claims on both sides of the table. Initial consultations are free.

Lawyers, licensed immigration consultants, clerks and administrators — every one of them reachable, and most of them multilingual.

Shahab Pangan Nazarinia leads NiaLaw with a combination that is rare in a single practitioner: he is a lawyer, a Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). He built NiaLaw around clients whose immigration, property and business decisions cross borders — and who need one advisor who understands the legal and the commercial side of each.
On the legal side, Shahab directs the firm's immigration practice, including judicial review applications at the Federal Court, and is a Legal Aid Ontario lawyer on the refugee roster. He also supervises the real estate department. On the commercial side, his CITP training covers customs, tariff classification, rules of origin, Incoterms and trade finance, and his CAMS designation covers the anti-money-laundering and sanctions rules that every importer, exporter and money-services business must meet.
That combination is why business owners, investors and newcomers bring him matters that sit between law and commerce: a work permit tied to a supply contract, a commercial purchase for an importer, or a supply contract governed by Canadian law. He also advises companies on strategy and structure, drawing on his experience in the financial services sector.

Nelly runs the firm's real estate department. Clients name her for her calm on closing day, her attention to the fine print in agreements of purchase and sale, and her habit of catching issues before they become problems.

Zaira has spent the last several years in personal injury, where genuine care for clients and meticulous file work set her apart. She represents injured clients against insurers and at-fault parties, and has expanded her practice into real estate.

Amie leads NiaLaw's employment law practice. She advises employees on dismissals, severance and workplace rights, and helps employers draft contracts, policies and terminations that hold up. She brings the same practical, plain-language approach to both sides of the table.

Saeideh is licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants. She prepares and manages work and study permits, Express Entry and provincial nominee applications and family sponsorships, and works alongside our lawyers on complex files.
